Key Qualifications:

  • Current Pennsylvania RN or LPN license
  • Certification as an Educational Specialist by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Valid Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
  • 35 years of nursing experience (preferably within pediatrics, school nursing, or similar settings)
  • Physical capability to move throughout the school, lift up to 25 pounds, and provide hands-on care

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and respond to student illnesses or injuries as they arise
  • Deliver preventive health services and monitor student development
  • Educate students, staff, and families about key health issues
  • Maintain clear, accurate health documentation as required by school policies
  • Encourage and support a safe, healthy environment for all students

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : The delivery of patient care through the framework of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis and patient outcome) in the preoperative, interoperative and postoperative phase of the surgical patient.
