As a Hospice Registered Nurse You will:   

Assess/monitor physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients

Create hospice care plans that align with the patients wishes and goals

Direct nursing care: administering medications, treatments, and interventions

Provide pain and symptom management

Educate and support the patient’s family and caregivers

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Participate in on-call rotation as required by local branch

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation

One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred

Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred

Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care

Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence

Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order

Description Coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team to provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation services. Performs physical exams, health histories, nursing assessment and routine observation for patients within established time frames. Provides direct patient care including administering medications, wound care, injections, intravenous infusions and other treatment interventions while operating standard critical care equipment safely and correctly. Recognizes and intervenes in life threatening emergencies, including the administration of emergency drugs, and defibrillator or other emergency treatment.
