Certification/Skills: Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse Current Texas Licensure as APRN Current American Association of Nurse Anesthetist certification (AANA) BLS, ACLS and/or other specialty certification as required by department The incumbent must meet 2 of 6 established requirements: * Experienced in a major medical center or a major trauma receiving hospital. * Skilled in administration of varied regional anesthesia techniques, i.e., spinal, epidurals, brachial plexus blocks. * Skilled in the placement of arterial lines, CVP, and PA lines, and is capable in the use and interpretation of varied pressure monitoring and lab values. * Active pursuit of continuing education credits. * Experienced in academics, i.e., has worked with nurse anesthesia students, residents, and medical students. * Experienced as an R.N. in the critical and acute care areas; is familiar with the use and interpretation of EKG, arterial, central venous and pulmonary artery pressure monitoring; is skilled in respiratory management and blood gas analysis based on therapeutic knowledge. Minimum Education: Masters in Nurse Anesthesia Minimum Experience: None. Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
