Position Overview

The Neuvera BHI Clinic Nurse provides specialized nursing care under the supervision of the Neuvera Physician for patients with neurological conditions. This role supports diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, patient education, and ongoing care coordination. Combining clinical expertise with compassionate communication, the Clinic Nurse helps optimize outcomes for patients with epilepsy, stroke, migraines, movement disorders, dementia, and other neurological conditions while contributing to a high-quality patient experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake, history review, and neurological symptom assessment
  • Assist with patient scheduling and data collection for EEG studies and other neurodiagnostic procedures
  • Administer treatment, medications, and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications
  • Coordinate care with neurologists, EEG technologists, and allied health professionals
  • Document clinical findings and interventions in the NeuroMatch and EMR systems
  • Support triage and neurological symptom management
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training
  • Support the clinical, technical, administrative, research, and affiliated teams as assigned
  • Support Neuvera business partners as assigned
  • Follow and uphold Neuvera BHI clinic policies, compliance guidelines, confidentiality, and code of conduct requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications 

  • Active RN license in California
  • BLS/CPR certification (required); ACLS preferred
  • At least 4 years of clinical experience (neurology or outpatient preferred)
  • Familiarity with neurodiagnostic tools and terminology (e.g., EEG, seizure protocols)
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  • EMR proficiency (e.g., Epic, Cerner)

Preferred Skills & Attributes 

  • Experience with epilepsy, stroke, dementia, or movement disorder care
  • Comfort with adult or geriatric neurology populations
  • Ability to interpret basic neurodiagnostic results
  • Team-oriented, empathetic, and detail-focused
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Google applications, and web-based platforms
  • Multilingual abilities (a plus)

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred. EXPERIENCE: Staff Nurse II – Minimum of six months Registered Nurse experience. Six months current ER & triage experience or completion of Seton ER Nurse Training Program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Active California Registered Nurse licensure Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required ACLS certification required PALS certification required NIHSS certification required Workplace Violence Prevention De-escalation 8-hr (AB508) certification or CPI certification required Preferred: NRP certification. OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: Diffusing Assaultive Behavior Training Knowledgeable of the California Nursing Practice Act. Able to understand and follow all policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations of Nursing Service, Seton Medical Center, Title XXII. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficient in Evident computerized documentation system preferred.
