Position Highlights

The Caregiver/Medication Aide (CMA) gives medications and treatments to specified residents under the direct supervision of the charge nurse and provides medical and physical care to the residents of the household to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. While this care is provided under the leadership of a professional nurse, the CMA is the residents’ closest advocate in the household. The CMA promotes the residents’ psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building, and works with the household team to meet other social service needs of the resident and of the household, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members. The CMA plans and facilitates social activities for residents of the household which provide meaningful ways to spend time in recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun. The CMA also supports the household homemaker in his/her tasks. All CMA tasks are performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines and regulations in a safe and efficient manner.

Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $19.50 - $28.00 Position Highlights ****Position located in Rapid City, SD The Medical Assistant works under the direction of the RN Transplant Coordinator for all aspects of the job. Assists the Transplant Coordinator in referral, evaluation, listing, and post transplant activities. A high degree of personal initiative, attention to detail and accuracy is required in a fast-paced multidisciplinary clinic and ancillary setting. The Medical Assistant: Serve as first line resource for patients and assist in facilitating the patient through all transplant/donor phases; referral, evaluation, waitlist and post-transplant or donation phases (referral, evaluation and post donation). Triage a high volume of challenging patient, provider and calls. Report urgent calls to coordinator and physicians. Triage phone calls and faxes for the Transplant Office. Schedule appointments/testing as needed and notify patient via phone call and/or letter. Obtain/track testing results performed at outside facilities. Accurately enter outside labs into the transplant database. Notify RN Transplant Coordinator of abnormal/urgent results.
