Requirements High School or GED For hires after 11/28/2011: CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration required or within 6 months of hire OR credentialed through a formal training program that includes testing of knowledge BLS within 6 months of hire Major Responsibilities Perform clinical duties such as pre‑visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assisting providers with examinations and/or procedures. Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization as required. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked. Following standard work procedures and messaging policy, respond to the patient phone portal message on the same day. Use standing protocols to complete pre-visit work, close gaps in care, administrate vaccines, and complete prescription refills. May schedule pre‑admission and diagnostic testing and place follow-up calls to patients after surgery. May perform any of the following daily administrative duties of the practice: greeting/check-in/check-out, scheduling patients, answering telephones, taking messages, organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patient records, collection of co-pays and patient balances, post-payment and adjustment transactions, and balance daily journal. Maintains and adheres to established Core Physicians policies and procedures and federal regulations, including, patient confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards; responsible for participating in the daily huddle and completing any actions required and working as a member of the care team to ensure proper communication between all team members. In some practices, the MA may perform scribing duties; accompany the provider into the patient examination room and accurately and efficiently document the encounter; order any labs, make referrals, and order prescriptions that have been recommended by the provider. Responsible for monitoring care team metrics to evaluate improvement metrics and outcome. Provides coverage for other Core Offices as needed, based on priorities, and performs other duties as assigned.

The Registered Nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary care team, providing clinical oversight and supervision of telemetry-monitored exercise sessions . The RN plays a key role in patient safety, individualized care planning, and ongoing assessment throughout the rehabilitation process. In addition, the RN delivers evidence-based education and counseling related to lifestyle modification and cardiovascular risk reduction, both in group classes and individual sessions . Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, assists physicians with examinations and procedures, and consults with the physician and other specialists as required to ensure optimal patient care. May provide patient /family education and counseling including to include chronic disease management and medicare wellness visits. Purchases and maintains appropriate amount of medical supplies and equipment in accordance with CORE’s policies. Ensures all medical equipment is functioning properly at all times. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in services, meetings and workshops. Provides patient/family education and counseling and maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient and family including assurance and support. May manage INRs, with additional training provided by Core. Monitors and ensures accuracy of nursing documentation on patient medical record. Completes patient intakes and updates care guidelines to ensure gaps in care are closed. Maintains established CORE and federal regulated policies and procedures, objectives, patient confidentiality, quality improvement programs, safety/environment of care programs and infection control standards. All other duties as assigned.
