Pay Rate: $18.00-$25.00/hour

Essential Functions of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

  • Performs duties such as activities of daily living- bathing, dressing, assistance in nutrition and hydration, locomotion/ambulation, feeding, incontinence care, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming such as comb/brush hair, nail care, shave. Bowel and bladder assistance, maintenance rehab, proper understanding of least restrictive devise regulations, proper utilization of restraint devises, special care needs.

  • Provide for residents with special needs related to their diagnosis (i.e. behavioral issues, splints, etc.)

  • Reports all cases of alleged violations involving mistreatment, neglect or abuse including injuries of unknown sources.

  • Documents resident care accurately and completely at point of care utilizing computerized medical record system.

  • Notes resident changes of condition and reports same to LPN/RN.

  • Answers call bells in a timely and polite manner.

  • Assists in provision of post-mortem care.

  • Performs vital signs as directed.

  • Reports on duty, listens to and/or obtains report from Charge Nurse, receives assignment.

  • Makes two hour and prn rounds on all residents.

  • Keeps unit neat and clean; straightens nourishment station, clean and dirty utility room and other areas as assigned.

  • Ensure the resident is out of bed, dressed and ready to participate in activities of choice.

  • Provide assistance with ADLs during activities if necessary.

  • Assist resident to participate in individual activities of choice, (i.e.: set up of equipment, positioning assistance, providing sufficient lighting and space).

Physical Requirements of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

  • Requires movement throughout entire unit.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to bend, lift, and transport equipment.

  • Must be able to lift and turn and residents.

  • Requires ability to utilize computerized medical record system for the purposes of medical record documentation.
