Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Oncology/Infusion Center. Provides chemotherapy and related medical oncology treatments and education to adult patients with diagnosed malignancies. Reports to Clinical Manager for Oncology/Hematology and Cancer Registry Services.

 

Qualifications

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.

4. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Job Summary: The RN is an essential member of the Patient Care Team who is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. It should demonstrate an awareness of the responsibility of medical/legal implications through content and legibility requirements as needed. Documents on admission assessment, nursing care plan, flow sheets, medication administration record, and nurses' notes all pertinent information, in a manner that is concise, thorough, legible, and accurately reflects patient condition, care provided, response to care and conforms to SMRMC charting. Assists others in developing accurate and thorough documentation skills. Completes all HealthStream modules within the timeframe identified. Promotes a positive culture/atmosphere within the department each shift. Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols. Identifies and assists in the correction of patient care safety issues. Works within the guidelines of Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and the adoption of safe practices. Overview Registered Nurse RN - Coronary Care Unit (CCU) Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts The CCU Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, high-quality patient care to adults with cardiac conditions in the Coronary Care Unit.
