Penn State Health is seeking an accomplished nursing executive to serve as Director of Nursing for the Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center (HOSC), a high-performing ambulatory surgery center dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical care in a patient-centered environment.

Reporting as a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Nursing provides strategic and operational oversight for all perioperative nursing services, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and evidence-based care. This leader will drive clinical excellence, operational performance, regulatory compliance, workforce engagement, and continuous quality improvement across the center.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for perioperative nursing practice and patient care delivery.
  • Foster a culture of patient safety, accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Partner with physicians, anesthesia providers, and operational leaders to optimize surgical services and patient outcomes.
  • Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Drive operational performance through quality, safety, patient experience, and financial stewardship metrics.
  • Champion process improvement and innovation to enhance efficiency and care delivery.
