Position Overview (Driver – CNA Required)

Heritage Grove Estates is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Driver to join our skilled nursing team. In this role, you will provide safe and reliable transportation services for residents while supporting their comfort, dignity, and overall well-being throughout the transportation process.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Driver, you will assist residents with transfers, mobility, and transportation needs for medical appointments, community outings, social events, and other scheduled activities. This position plays an important role in ensuring residents remain connected to essential healthcare services and community engagement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents to medical appointments, therapy visits, social outings, and facility-sponsored activities

  • Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles using proper transfer techniques and safety equipment

  • Provide support with wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices during transportation

  • Ensure resident safety, comfort, and dignity throughout all transportation activities

  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, appointment schedules, mileage records, and vehicle documentation

  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly

  • Assist residents with errands and other transportation-related needs as assigned

  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, department leaders, residents, families, and healthcare providers

  • Support nursing staff with resident assistance and care activities as appropriate within CNA scope of practice

  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, resident rights, HIPAA requirements, and transportation safety regulations

  • Promote a positive, welcoming, and resident-centered environment during all resident interactions

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Kansas, in good standing

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous experience transporting seniors or individuals with mobility limitations preferred

  • Ability to safely assist residents with transfers, ambulation, and mobility needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members
