Certified Medical Assistant

Pacific Skin Institute is in search of a motivated candidate with a team-centered attitude! Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for visit by pulling diagnostic reports (labs, x-rays)
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures
  • Process all the paperwork in the Provider’s outbox.
  • Assessing patient condition for the provider
  • Administering injections
  • Assisting with out-patient procedures
  • Follow up with patient regarding lab results.
  • Call patients to schedule follow-up appointments as directed by the Provider
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms between appointments
  • Clean, Wash, and sterilize equipment per autoclave process
  • Collect urine samples and perform routine tests directed by the Provider; prepare other specimens for testing or lab pickup
  • Send medication refills as directed by the Provider
  • Stock assigned patient rooms daily and as needed to maintain proper inventory
  • Specimen collections and processing
  • Perform Biohazard maintenance (check all sharps containers and biohazard trash cans.)
  • Coordinate referral of services to and from other Health Care Providers
  • Performs vital signs accurately including BMI for >2 years old. If there are red readings, repeat for accuracy, especially the Blood Pressure. If necessary, use the right size cuff for manual reading.
  • Acting as the liaison between a provider and his/her patients and another medical office
  • Answer phone calls and e-mails, returning messages within 24 hours

*PSI has 5 locations. Occasionally, due to staffing needs, you must be willing to travel to any of these sites: (Sacramento, Folsom, Elk Grove, Rocklin or Vacaville).
