Full-Time School Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Shreveport, LA
Schedule: Full-Time | School Year Position

We are seeking a caring and reliable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a school district in Shreveport, Louisiana for the upcoming school year. This part-time position offers the opportunity to support student health and wellness while maintaining a flexible schedule in a rewarding educational setting.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students during the school day
  • Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
  • Monitor students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizure disorders
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and healthcare providers to support student success
  • Assist with health screenings, immunization compliance, and health education initiatives
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed
  • Ensure compliance with state, district, and school health guidelines

Qualifications

  • Active Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Previous pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
