Alliance Health at Baldwinville is a 94-bed skilled nursing facility that provides long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, and specialized nursing services. We are committed to delivering high-quality care while fostering a positive and supportive workplace for our employees.

Our facility is currently seeking a dedicated and organized Staff Development Coordinator to join our management team. As a member of the facility's management team, the Staff Development Coordinator plays a key leadership role in developing and supporting our workforce through orientation, training, competency validation, and professional development initiatives.

This position works collaboratively with all departments to foster a culture of learning, compliance, and excellence in resident care; to oversee employee orientation, training, education, and competency programs. This position is a plays a key role in ensuring staff maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality resident care while meeting state and federal regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation programs.

  • Develop, schedule, and facilitate ongoing staff education and in-service training.

  • Maintain employee training records and competency documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, OSHA, infection control, and facility training requirements.

  • Coordinate annual mandatory education and competency assessments.

  • Assist with CNA training, mentoring, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs and opportunities for professional development.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and update training materials as needed.

  • Support survey readiness and corrective action plans related to staff education.

  • Assist with employee engagement, retention, and career development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license preferred; healthcare training experience required.

  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare settings preferred.

  • Knowledge of CMS, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and long-term care regulations.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic learning systems.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Rounds on existing and new patients, addressing issues or concerns of patients and/or families on the unit. 4. Responsible for the closure of Safety Intelligence reports and appropriate Corrective Action Plans in place. Responsible for reporting all Serious Reporting Events (SRE) to leadership and provide feedback to staff on results. 5. Links departmental goals to department of nursing/organizational goals and strategic plans. 6. Actively coordinates clinical quality improvement and safety efforts on the unit with defined medical center quality and safety goals. 7. Facilitates patient flow through timely admissions and discharges in collaboration with medical staff and case management to assure proper utilization of resources. 8. Works collaboratively to solve problems, improve processes and integrate services within the department and with other departments. 9. Develops and implements service initiatives on unit using/tailoring organizational tools and programs such as Because We Care, Our Commitments, etc. 10. Job Responsibilities: Direct the total nursing care activities in the facility, working closely with the Director of Nursing Services Develop, update, and communicate resident care plans Ensure staff is implementing care plans and performing care activities appropriately Maintain current resident care plans and respond to changes in resident status Follow physician orders and transmit them promptly and accurately Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes Administer medication according to procedure, if applicable Initiate emergency procedures as needed Conduct oversight of Charge Nurses and CNA performances Contribute to positive resident and family relations Requirements: Current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in Massachusetts CPR certification Minimum one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or related healthcare facility Strong assessment skills and knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and families Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care Leadership and supervisory ability, with a willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel Benefits: Weekly Pay Holiday & Overtime Pay Career Advancement Opportunities Exclusive Employer Discount Program 401(k) with Employer Match Available for Full-Time Staff: Employer-Paid Life Insurance Vacation and Personal Time Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance We are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity at all levels.
