Job Overview:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) practices under the direction or supervision of the professional registered nurse. The LPN implements nursing care for assigned patients and assists the RN in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of nursing care. This includes demonstrating competency in basic patient care skills, clerical/courier duties, stocking, transporting, performing EKG’s, phlebotomy, specific patient care duties, and other departmental duties as requested. May be floated as needed treating all diversities.

General Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times
• Basic Computer skilss

• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required

• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an approved LPN course.

• Current Florida LPN licensure.
• LPN experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification upon hire; For ER, CPI within first 90 days.
• Completion of 30-hour IV Certification Course including 4-hour central line course (central line course may be separate if not included in IV Certification Course)–State Board approved - prior to end of orientation.
• Completion of basic arrhythmia (i.e. approved dysrhythmia course) and successful competency assessment within 90 days of employment.
