Travel Registered Nurse – Hospice (Regional Support)

We’re looking for a Hospice RN – Regional Support to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll provide direct care to patients and support to families, while also serving as a floating clinician—temporarily assigned to different hospice branches based on census needs or staffing gaps. If you’re energized by new settings, adaptable to change, and passionate about purpose-driven care, this role could be a perfect fit.

As a Hospice RN – Regional Support, You Will:

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care for hospice patients

  • Manage and implement individualized plans of care

  • Support and lead interdisciplinary team members (LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, etc.)

  • Assess and address patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental needs

  • Accurately document all care provided and ensure compliance with hospice protocols

  • Educate families and caregivers on care instructions, medications, and safety

  • Participate in the on-call rotation and provide after-hours care as needed

  • Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, and the care team

  • Assist with referrals, regulatory documentation, and payer compliance

  • Travel to various Gentiva hospice locations as assigned to fill urgent needs

Schedule & Travel:

This role typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional on-call responsibilities. Travel is required and may include:

  • Option 1: Overnight travel required to cities within a 100-mile radius.

  • Option 2: Frequent overnight travel to multiple states is required.

  • Option 3: Regional travel with overnight stays based on assignment needs.

A company fleet car is provided for eligible employees.

About You

Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment

  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience (hospice, home health, acute care, long-term care, oncology or other high acuity setting)

  • Current CPR certification

  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience (Not required):

  • Hospice and end-of-life nursing experience

  • Skilled in clinical assessments and compassionate communication

  • Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable working in varied environments with shifting needs

  • Proficient in documentation and electronic health records

  • Calm and supportive in crisis situations; skilled at family engagement
