Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our pediatric hospital medicine team at Winchester Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, well-supported environment providing care to hospitalized children and newborns in a community-focused setting.

 

Position Highlights

  • Provide care in a 17-bed pediatric unit and newborn nursery with approximately 2,400 annual admissions
    • Pediatric Floor Average Daily Census: 5
    • Newborn Nursery Average Daily Census: 15
  • Collaborate closely with pediatric hospitalists in a team-based care model
  • Work an 8-hour daytime shift, including weekends; no call required
  • Participate in rounding, patient management, admissions, and discharge planning

Job Description $15,000 hiring bonus and relocation available to those who qualify! 15% stipend for Nocturnist/Night Shift Schedule: Full Time Night Shift, 12-hour shifts / 7p - 7a Children’s Nebraska has an exciting opportunity to join our Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Transport team! Our NNPs work collaboratively with flight nurses to provide state-of-the-art neonatal care, utilizing fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and critical care ground ambulances throughout Nebraska and surrounding states. As a stand-alone neonatal team, we often operate in multiple states within a single shift. Transporting neonates demands critical thinking and places personnel in diverse situations with unique logistical challenges. Are you up for the challenge? Children’s Hospital of Nebraska offers a unique opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated neonatal transport team. As a free-standing hospital with over 75 years of service, we provide exceptional care to children nationwide, including our 52-bed Level 4 NICU. Our CAMTS-accredited transport team, comprised of NNPs, Flight Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians, works collaboratively to deliver outstanding patient care. We operate four ground ambulances and often utilize Children’s Hospital dedicated air assets such as an EC130 helicopter and a Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft. The NNP is responsible for managing the care and transport of neonates from referring facilities. This role requires proficiency in flight and ambulance treatment modalities, altitude physiology, and emergency procedures. Utilizing an advanced nursing process, the NNP will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while accurately documenting patient responses and outcomes. This position requires proficiency in neonatal pathophysiology and technical skills, including lab and x-ray interpretation, intubation, line placement, thoracentesis, thoracotomy, and intraosseous access. In collaboration with physicians and referral teams, the NNP must demonstrate strong leadership through nursing judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. As an advocate for patients and families, the NNP must maintain professional conduct and communication. Additionally, knowledge of healthcare economics is necessary to ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
