1:1 Registered Nurse School Nurse Job

We're seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 nursing support for a medically fragile student in Durand, MI for the 2026-2027 school year. This rewarding position will involve supporting the student throughout their entire school day, including required bus transportation to and from school.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing tracheostomy (trach) care and providing individualized medical support to help the student safely participate in their educational environment.

Position Details:

Location: Durand, MI
Schedule: Full-time | School hours
School Year: 2026-2027
Assignment: 1:1 student support
Bus Riding: Required (morning and afternoon transportation)

Responsibilities:

Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to an assigned student throughout the school day
Monitor and manage the student's tracheostomy needs
Accompany and support the student during bus transportation
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Respond appropriately to medical needs and emergencies
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, parents, and healthcare providers
Maintain accurate health documentation and records
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications:

Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Current CPR/BLS certification required
Experience with tracheostomy care required
Pediatric, home health, or school-based nursing experience preferred
