The Registered Nurse (RN), under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides physical assessments of residents, implements resident's treatment plan, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, performs physical restraint assessments, administers medications as prescribed and provides health care education for residents and families. The RN supervises the daily duties of the Mental Health Techs and LPN staff, and assures that all residents are maintained in a safe environment. Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital (a UHS facility) Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+. Our treatment programs provide a structured and supportive treatment environment that promotes self-acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams consist of psychiatrists, licensed therapists and highly specialized nurses who collaborate to develop and implement effective and compassionate treatment plans for our patients. Applies appropriate interventions to progress the patient towards wellness and addresses maintenance of wellness. Administers medications as prescribed safely; provides education on prescribed medications; recognizes signs and symptoms of adverse drug reactions. Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and responsibility for decision making, quality nursing care, and knowledge base of psychiatric nursing care. Reviews, revises, and updates medical records within facility guidelines and timeframes. Transcribes and implements physician's orders according to facility policy; documents care, progress, response to intervention in medical record in an accurate, thorough and concise manner. Follows up on client care responsibilities, communicates incomplete assignments, and current client needs to staff to assure continuity of care. Implements staff assignments and delegation of duties using appropriate judgment and knowledge; Demonstrates positive willingness to assist staff and patients; functions as an advocate for patient needs/safety Utilizes nursing knowledge to successfully meet the needs of the facility, patient population, and staff members utilizes nursing resources to enhance evidence-based practice Float among various clinical services, where qualified and competent and performs other duties and projects as assigned.
