School Registered Nurse (RN) in Oxford, MI

Step into a vital, onsite role supporting a vibrant educational community as a Registered Nurse (RN) for an Extended School Year (ESY) assignment. This is an urgent need to provide coverage while a permanent solution is found for the next school year. Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing or a health-related field (required)
  • Valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)
  • Michigan School Nurse Certification (Interim, Standard, or Professional) preferred
  • Experience or certification to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED with the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or similar agency highly valued
  • Prior experience in school nursing or serving pediatric populations is beneficial
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health needs
  • Assess and respond to health emergencies onsite, administering medications and treatments per medical plans
  • Maintain comprehensive student health records in accordance with state regulations and school policies
  • Train staff in First Aid and CPR procedures, leveraging your certification when possible
  • Support the wider school community by promoting healthy practices and offering health education
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for students, families, and educators on matters of student health and wellness
