Summary:

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.

Other Information:

12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater. Service industry experience preferred but not required.

A complete and accurate accounting for all jobs held the past seven years starting with the most current.

Willingness to work under licensed nurse supervision.

Exhibit excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to learn and apply scope of practice related skills.

Communicate, collaborate with the health care team effectively and do so consistently.

Engage patients and families at the appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.

Problem solving and be proactive in anticipating and acting on nursing and customer needs.
