Summary:

The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. The Medical Assistant will conduct patient intake, take vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and complete patient health history in the electronic medical record. The ideal candidate will display good decision making skills, be able to multi-task, have knowledge of anatomy, and is proficient in medical terminology. This role may be required to draw and collect blood samples for patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, which may involve exposure to bodily fluids during patient care. The assistant must be friendly, professional, and able to keep a fast pace during clinic hours.

Summary GENERAL SUMMARY The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled individual that works in a healthcare setting to support the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. Functions within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider (MD, NP, RN, LPN) during performance of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks.
