East Jefferson General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Radiation Oncology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative clinical team, delivering exceptional care to oncology patients in an outpatient setting.

Position Summary

The Radiation Oncology NP/PA plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, this provider will conduct patient evaluations, develop and manage treatment plans, and support patients throughout their care journey.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive physical examinations and ongoing patient assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
Provide timely follow-up on patient calls, messages, and clinical inquiries
Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation and records
Identify and respond to urgent or emergent patient needs
Ensure a safe, supportive, and patient-focused clinical environment
Participate in care coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration
Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices

Professional Practice & Compliance

Adhere to all regulatory, federal, and state guidelines
Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
Stay current with continuing education and clinical competencies
Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and patient-centered care

Team Collaboration & Leadership

Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff
Actively participate in team huddles, meetings, and performance improvement initiatives
Serve as a clinical resource and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

Education:
• A master’s degree in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies.

Certification/License:
• Active, unencumbered, unrestricted Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license or Physician Assistant license or temporary permit
• Active Drug Enforcement Agency registration and Louisiana Controlled Drug Substance license
Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
