Position Overview
Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our inpatient team in a daytime admissions-focused role.
The APP will focus on new patient admissions, ensuring timely, high-quality evaluations and seamless coordination of care.
Preferred Experience
- Clinical rotations in internal medicine, hospital medicine, or acute care
- Exposure to admissions workflow and inpatient care coordination
Schedule & Work Environment
- Daytime schedule only – no overnight responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive history and physicals for new admissions
- Perform detailed clinical assessments and develop care plans
- Collaborate closely with attending physicians and hospitalists
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
- Document all encounters accurately in the EMR
- Coordinate care with nursing, case management, and ancillary services
- Assist with care transitions and discharge planning as appropriate
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Previous experience as an NP or PA
- Active or eligible for Maine licensure
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
