Job Description

The Perioperative Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and family support during the surgical journey. You will be responsible for assisting physicians and ensuring a seamless experience in the Pre-Op and PACU areas. This role is crucial in maintaining a high standard of care and supporting organizational goals through quality service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional patient care and family support throughout the surgical experience.
Assist physicians with equipment, supplies, and support in Pre-Op and PACU.
Ensure a smooth and safe surgical process, adhering to high standards of care.
Maintain a positive and supportive environment for patients and their families.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver efficient and effective care.
Stay updated with clinical applications and best practices.
Adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with frequent interruptions.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to teamwork.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey is required.
BLS certification is mandatory upon hire.
ACLS and PALS certifications are required, as designated by specialty.
Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to adjust to schedule changes.
Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided.
Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
Physical requirements include standing for long periods and occasional lifting.
