Position Overview

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Endocrinology APP to join its team serving the Central Maine region. The Endocrinology APP provides comprehensive outpatient and/or inpatient care to patients with endocrine disorders under applicable state regulations and organizational policies. The APP collaborates with endocrinologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, diagnose, treat, educate, and monitor patients with conditions such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, pituitary diseases, obesity, and other endocrine-related conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage endocrine disorders in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic test results.
  • Manage diabetes care, including insulin therapy, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and insulin pump management.
  • Provide patient education regarding disease management, medications, nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state laws and organizational protocols.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, nurses, dietitians, diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance programs.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • MSN with specialization as an APRN
  • Current state license as an Nurse Practitioner
  • BLS upon hire and maintain current
  • Two years as nurse practitioner in Endocrinology & Diabetes preferred or two years as a nurse practitioner in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine clinic
  • Experience with electronic health record systems 
 Skills
  • Insulin pumps
  • Continuous glucose monitors (CGM's)
  • Intense insulin regimens
  • Lead or co-lead SMA's (shared medical appointments), offering medical assessments within a group setting

MaineHealth OBGYN with Stephens Hospital in Norway, Maine, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional with women’s health experience - Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Associate (PA), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our OB/GYN practice. Help support our busy, outpatient OB/GYN practice under the supervision of covering OB/GYN physicians. This provider will manage a broad range of Women’s Health issues including prenatal and postnatal OB care. The position is focused on outpatient care of obstetrical patients to include clinical care coordination of obstetrical services. However, there is the potential to adapt this position based on the candidate’s interest and experience to include some combination of gynecological care, deliveries, or support for surgical procedures. The candidate is expected to have completed an accredited certified nurse midwifery, nurse practitioner or physician associate program and have two or more years of applicable women’s health experience. A successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and knowledge of low-risk pregnancy. They will also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment within a busy OB/GYN practice.
