Thoracic Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

Overview

The Dartmouth Cancer Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong interest or background in Thoracic Oncology. This advanced practice provider will work collaboratively within the Section of Medical Oncology to deliver high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care at our Lebanon, New Hampshire clinic. 

 

What we are seeking:

An experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant with experience in oncology, or a new graduate with experience as an oncology RN.

A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

An autonomous advanced practice provider with clinical expertise and organizational skills who enjoys working in a generalist role with a wide variety of cancer patients.

 

Provide care to individuals and their families from diagnosis through end-of-life including identification and treatment of acute and late effects of therapy. Performs procedures as required for patient assessment.

Work closely with the clinic nurses and provider staff assisting in coordination of care for patients under treatment and management of acute therapy side effects. Works with clinic nursing staff to triage patient telephone calls and provide recommendations.

Fully integrate into section functions including multidisciplinary case conferences [tumor boards], faculty meetings, research and quality improvement projects when applicable.

Actively participate in the Advanced Practice Provider team of the Dartmouth Cancer Center through attendance of monthly team meetings, journal club, biannual peer review process and annual retreat as appropriate.

Prepares for, participates in and attends required conferences, meetings and committees as requested.

 

Participates in clinical research, relevant to the medical oncology patient population, providing clinical care and follow-up assessments as required by protocol.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
  • National specialty certification as FNP, PNP, Acute or Primary Care A-GNP, WHNP or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRN only)
  • Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
  • BLS certification
