Position Summary

The Director of Nursing (DON/DNS) is responsible for overseeing all nursing services within the facility. You will lead, plan, and coordinate the work of nursing and auxiliary staff to ensure quality care for our residents. The DON ensures adherence to facility policies, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement in care delivery and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the nursing services department

  • Develop, update, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and manuals

  • Lead quality assurance programs and implement action plans for improvement

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

  • Oversee completion of medical records, reports, and care documentation

  • Structure and supervise in-service training programs for nursing staff

  • Participate in state and federal inspections and surveys

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

  • Current RN license in the State of Indiana (required)

  • Prior experience in nursing administration, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to quality resident care and staff development
