Patient Care Nurse Assistant- Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke 5N OBC 72hrs Biweekly Day/Eve

Location: MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7:30p, 3p-11:30p; Rotating Weekends & Holidays

Primary Patient Population

  • Stroke Rehabilitation

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

  • Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking
  • Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
  • Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.

Personnel PCNA Will Work With

  • RNs, LPNs, Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians.

Number Of Beds On Unit

  • 14 beds

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position).
  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
