
Licensed Practical Nurse - ACU | Pediatric Specialties | Day Shift | Full-time
Help provide exceptional surgical care in a fast-paced Pediatric Specialty clinic where teamwork and outstanding patient care come first. This hands-on LPN role partners closely with RNs and providers during in-clinic surgical procedures while also supporting efficient clinic operations by rooming and triaging patients, as well as coordinating supplies. Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) eligible to practice in the State of Florida.
- One (1) year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and take initiative in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent patient/customer service skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities.
Licensure, Certification & Registration
- Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or eligibility to practice in the State of Florida through the Florida Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification throughout employment.
- Must successfully complete the required medication competency test within 30 days of hire.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation
- This position will not require operation of a vehicle for assigned business purposes.
