PeaceHealth is seeking a PMHNP with interest in pioneering the culture and the model of team-based care for PeaceHealth's Bellingham community. This position is based in an outpatient setting (.8 FTE) with a small portion of on-call and inpatient coverage (.2 FTE)

Job Description Summary: The Advance Practice Nurse (APN) provides psychiatric care to patients. APN provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. APN demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. APN will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. Responsibilities: Interprets and evaluates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Administers, dispenses, and prescribes drugs and provides treatment within the APN’s scope of practice and consistent with the APN’s skills, training, and competence. May administer and dispense controlled substances on a case-by-case consistent with collaborative agreement with Center psychiatrist. Provides counseling and instruction regarding patient problems. When seeing a patient with conditions which are beyond the education, training, competency or scope of practice of the APN, the APN will consult with or refer the patient to the collaborating Physician.
