Hospice Aide/CNA | FT Days | Gainesville Area

$16 - $18 / hour

 

The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, hands-on personal care to terminally ill patients located in home care and assisted living facilities throughout the region.   The aide supports patient comfort, dignity, and safety while adhering to the established plan of patient care. The role involves direct care tasks, assisting with mobility, and supporting family caregivers, with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and across different care sites as needed.


Position Details:

  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; weekends as needed
  • Work Locations: Home care around the general Gainesville Florida area, including Assisted Living Facilities and Long Term Care Faciliaties 
  • Compensation:  $16.00 - $18.00 hour base salary plus paid driving mileage; full healthcare benefits package plus 23 days annual PTO

Job Responsibilities

•    Provide personal care services in accordance with the plan of care and hospice regulations.
•    Assist with patient ambulation and exercise routines.
•    Perform basic procedures as directed by licensed clinicians.
•    Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition to a licensed nurse.
•    Complete timely and accurate documentation per policy.
•    Educate family or caregiver on proper patient care techniques.
•    Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
•    Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and other required sessions.
•    Complete a minimum of 12 hours of job-specific training annually.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Licensures Required

•    Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Florida.
•    Current CPR/BLS certification.
•    Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

•    Minimum of six months of relevant experience preferred.

•    Experience in hospice or terminal care strongly preferred.

Other Requirements

•    Required immunizations and screenings (e.g., TB, Hepatitis, Flu).
•    Clearance for communicable diseases prior to patient contact.
•    Reliable transportation and ability to shift work locations.
