Join Our Team as a Part-Time Clinic Nurse Educator at Ocean Beach Health!
This position works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, Senior Director of Clinics, Nurse Educators, and Clinic staff. The Clinic Nurse Educator for Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining clinical education programs that ensure staff competency, regulatory compliance, onboarding and continuous survey readiness across all clinic settings. This role emphasizes preparedness for surveys, competency validation, and standardized clinical practice across geographically dispersed sites.
The Nurse Educator partners closely with clinic leadership, Infection Prevention (IP), and Emergency Preparedness teams to lead drills, tabletop exercises, and training that strengthen organizational readiness for public health emergencies, disasters, and infection control events. This role serves as a clinical expert, educator, and mentor to nursing and clinical support staff, promoting high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care in resource-constrained rural environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive orientation and onboarding programs for clinic nursing staff and Certified Medical Assistants ensuring alignment with Rural Health Clinic workflows, patient populations, and operational needs.
- Develop, coordinate, and sustain competency-based education programs that support staff proficiency, clinical excellence, and compliance with Rural Health Clinic Conditions for
- Participation, accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and organizational policies.
- Oversee initial, annual, and ongoing competency assessments, skills validations, and mandatory education
- Collaborate with the Employee Development Specialist, hospital-based nurse educators, Infection Prevention, and Emergency Preparedness teams to align education initiatives, address system-wide needs, and promote consistent standards across clinic settings
- Standardize evidence-based clinical workflows, educational tools, and competency expectations across multiple clinic sites to reduce variation, support reliable practice, and strengthen quality performance
- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate drills, simulations, tabletop exercises, and just-in-time training related to emergency preparedness, downtime procedures, infection outbreaks, public health events, and other high-risk clinical scenarios.
- Mentor, coach, and support staff in developing clinical judgment, critical thinking, technical skills, and confidence, with particular attention to low-resource, independent, and high-acuity rural practice environments.
- Participate in performance improvement, patient safety, and quality initiatives by identifying educational opportunities, reinforcing best practices, and contributing to action plans that address clinical and operational trends.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse
- Two years' experience as a Registered Nurse
- Healthcare Provider CPR and ACLS
- Previous clinic experiences preferred
- Previous Educator experience preferred
- Process Improvement experience preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Strong computer skills; PowerPoint, Epic, Excel and other visual presentation programs
- Good Verbal and written communication skills
