We are seeking a dynamicNurse Manager (RN)to lead our Adult Behavioral Health unit atSpring Harbor Hospital, a key part of MaineHealth Behavioral Health.

The Nurse Manager plays a critical leadership role in fostering a culture of clinical excellence, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care, and supporting the professional development and competency of nursing staff. The ideal candidate has strong behavioral health RN experience, leadership and communication skills.

The Nurse Manager position provides oversight for both 2 East, a 17-bed general psychiatric unit, and the 5-bed adult psychiatric ICU. This dynamic role requires strong collaboration, leadership, and a passion for psychiatric care. The manager is responsible for staffing, personnel management, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care delivery. While the role carries 24/7 accountability for unit operations, a call rotation across leaders helps support off-hours and weekend coverage. The position oversees approximately 75 staff members across the units.

Summary

About the Unit

The Nurse Manager assists the Director in the coordination, supervision, and management of all personnel and patient care activities of the unit and in the successful operation of the hospital and network at large.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. RNC preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of psychiatric nursing or comparable experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrate expertise in clinical practice and judgment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
