Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time RN to join our highly committed and dynamic Emergency Services team as we provide excellent quality care to over 68,000 patients of all ages annually.

What You'll Do:

As a nurse, you will play a direct role in providing LOVE + MEDICINE for a broad range of patient acuities. You will be expected to perform with a high degree of clinical and professional aptitude while helping deliver patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team of Providers, RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Social Workers. Emergency Services, a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, is a high-energy, patient-centered environment consisting of 45 total patient exam rooms including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms that serve every patient population from infancy to the elderly. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. We are also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities. Emergency Services, a 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, is recognized and acknowledged for excellence throughout the department through metrics and patient experience that is difficult to find anywhere else in the nation.

What's Available:

Part-time, 60 hours biweekly (0.75 FTE). Will orientate fulltime for 12 weeks
12-hour day/night rotation (7a-7p, 7p-7a), every third weekend and holiday rotation
Starting pay of $38.96 per hour and up, based on your years of experience, as well as generous shift/weekend/holiday differentials

What You'll Need:

A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing
An active Wisconsin or multi-state RN license upon start
Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including toddlers and adults
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Prior acute RN experience preferred

The nurse delivers and coordinates patient-centered care across the continuum to support the successful transition of patients to other healthcare delivery systems or their home communities. The registered nurse is responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the appropriate utilization of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation, in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Position Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with Current IL RN license BSN preferred, ADN acceptable with agreement for nurses with less than 12 months of experience to enroll in BSN completion program to be completed in four years. Nurses with more than 12 months experience in direct patient care must possess a BSN or obtain either BSN or Advocate Aurora Health (AAH) recognized nursing certification within one year of the date of hire or becoming eligible to sit for certification, whichever is later. Current AHA CPR Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts in order to accommodate staffing Certain positions may need to take call Work environment includes probability of exposure to adverse, hazardous, or unpleasant conditions while caring for the sick Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
