Summary

Participates in the creation of collaborative agreement protocols, and the credentialing and recredentialing of APPs, including reviewing past cases, gaining feedback from sponsoring physicians, and ensuring quality standards are met. Provides expertise on staffing standards and participates in the creation of protocols, and the credentialing and recredentialing of APPs. Partners with Human Resources on employee/labor relations cases involving APPs, and acts as the subject matter expert on APP practice for the purpose of determining corrective action. Collaborates with the UM School of Nursing leadership team on recruitment efforts, creation of residency programs, and encouragement of APP employees to gain adjunct faculty positions. Collaborates with the Professional Practice Department to align Magnet standards with APP practice. Reviews APP compliance with documentation and billing standards. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local APP-related laws, regulations, and rules, including but not limited to CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), the Joint Commission, the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Florida Department of Health, and other regulatory bodies. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and local/state/federal legislation to manage and reduce legal risks. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
