Salary & Nursing Framework Level
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Responsibilities*
- Provide safe, effective, and specialized nursing care in an ambulatory care CVC Cardiac Clinic setting.
- Serve as a consultant to nursing personnel, and other health care professionals. Function as a resource to ensure continuity of care
- Perform phone triage, including assessment, screening, clinical advice, nurse visits (in person/virtual/phone visits), in-clinic hands on procedures, and other duties assigned.
- Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care.
- Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources.
- Initiate and/or participate in data collection and assist in analysis of research project related to patients as indicated.
- Attend appropriate continuing education, staff development programs
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills through the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities.
- Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships between units and individuals.
- Demonstrated accountability and dependability including a good attendance record with punctuality.
- Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and coaching related to chronic conditions including, but not limited to, cardiac procedure, cardiac surgery and pre- post recovery plans.
- Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation
- Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
- Demonstrated accountability and dependability, for example, completion of work, mandatories, goal setting within established timelines.
- Current license to practice nursing in Michigan.
- Minimum of two ( 2) years of recent (within the last 5 years) experience in adult cardiology, adult cardiac surgery, or structural heart ( TAVR / MATRIX)
- BLS certification
Desired Qualifications*
- One (1) year of recent (within the last five (5) years) ambulatory care experience. This ambulatory care experience must include telephone triage.
- Five (5) years or more of nursing experience in adult Cardiology or adult Cardiac Surgery.
- Three (3) years of recent ambulatory care experience.
- Clinical Leadership experience such as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or Clinical Instructor.
- Participation in unit committees or quality projects that demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with, and positively contribute to a team approach to patient care
- Experience with MiChart, EPIC, Cisco Finesse, Word, and Excel
- Demonstrated accountability/dependability as evidenced, for example, by a stellar attendance record; by completion of mandatories and unit-based competencies within an established time frame; by meeting deadlines and completing required work.

- Shift/Hours/Days: Day shift (10-hour shift); Monday-Friday. Hours and days may be variable (nontraditional including further weekends/holidays commitment) based on patient and volume needs
- Location: CVC Cardiology Clinic and other work locations as needed to support patient populations seen in other locations.
