Job Requirements Education and Work Experience: Graduate of a school of nursing: Required One-year recent acute care RN experience in an operating room: Required Licenses/Certifications Current RN license in state of practice: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required within 6 months of hire or transfer Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required Essential Functions Assures patients personal needs are met. Recognizes sings and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress, or other impending emergencies. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to effectively function in Code Blue and other emergency situations. Accurately administers and charts medications according to hospital policies and procedures using patient’s 6 rights. Implements and /or assists others in implementation and documentation of planned education. Assesses patient’s educational needs. Assist in the development and education of new staff members. Attends and participates in staff meetings. Completes education, training, and competencies for department specific skills. Successfully adapts to changes in the unit, environment, and work flow. Assures all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly. Utilizes department resources appropriately. Minimizes incidental overtime. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
