Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Team leader has shift responsibility for management/coordination of patient care provided by patient care team members. The Team Leader is responsible for delegating and overseeing functions performed by the following team members: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Patient Care Technician, Patient Service Associate, and Health Unit Coordinator. The Team Leader collaborates with the Care Coordinator to ensure discharge needs are met. Qualifications Required Current license as an RN in the State of Michigan. Certified Surgical Tech at Northern Michigan Surgical Suites Responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference cards Inspects equipment for proper working condition Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure Arranges instruments according to given procedure Confirms that instruments work properly Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policy Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedure Assists in storing and stocking supplies as directed Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons’ preference cards Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician Documents patient-care records and other forms according to facility policies and procedures Accurately advises others responsible for care of the patient about the patient’s status Assists with room turnover/room cleaning throughout the day for optimal patient flow Other duties may be assigned Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program. Certification as required by state and/or center. 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position Summary: Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, will provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in a variety of medical procedures and tests to assist in the examination and treatment of patients, including but not limited to vital signs, procedures, various treatment, administering injections and venipuncture. Assists with routine procedures for gynecological exams, physicals, and office visits, etc. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or a Patient Care Tech. OR High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician. For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire For positions designated as float positions, travel to or between clinics is required Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) Electronic medical record experience.
