We’re hiring a Director of Patient Care Services – a compassionate and experienced clinical leader who oversees hospice care delivery, supports interdisciplinary teams, and ensures regulatory compliance. This role blends leadership, clinical expertise, and empathy to provide dignified, meaningful care to patients and families. The Director of Patient Care Services will be providing leadership guidance and support to all Los Angeles Region. The position is required to be in office at our Encino office five days a week, this is not a remote position.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Serve as a role model and resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support staff in problem-solving and determining appropriate clinical interventions
  • Collaborate with the Administrator on hiring, orientation, retention, and performance management
  • Adhere to budget requirements for labor, pharmacy, DME, and medical supplies
  • Coordinate patient care with RN Case Managers and attending physicians
  • Review and manage patients receiving higher levels of care (respite, inpatient, continuous care)
  • Oversee clinical and management responsibilities for assigned teams
  • Serve as liaison between Administrator, clinical staff, patients, families, and community partners

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a related health field.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Active CPR certification required; certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing preferred.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a related health field and at least 2 years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice or home health agency within the last 5 years
    • At least 4 years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice or home health agency within the last 5 years
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred; familiarity with WellSky is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lead bereavement support groups and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours based on patient needs.

What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience. We need you to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of your Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. What You Will Do: Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems Coordinate care and services to improve organization and implementation of plans of care, and quality of life and for all residents. JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary Provides support for clinical member services review assessment processes. Responsible for verifying that services are medically necessary and align with established clinical guidelines, insurance policies, and regulations - ensuring members reach desired outcomes through integrated delivery of care across the continuum. Contributes to overarching strategy to provide quality and cost-effective member care. Essential Job Duties • Assesses services for members to ensure optimum outcomes, cost-effectiveness and compliance with all state/federal regulations and guidelines. • Analyzes clinical service requests from members or providers against evidence based clinical guidelines. • Identifies appropriate benefits, eligibility and expected length of stay for requested treatments and/or procedures. • Conducts reviews to determine prior authorization/financial responsibility for Molina and its members. • Processes requests within required timelines. • Refers appropriate cases to medical directors (MDs) and presents them in a consistent and efficient manner. • Requests additional information from members or providers as needed. • Makes appropriate referrals to other clinical programs. • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to promote the Molina care model. • Adheres to utilization management (UM) policies and procedures. Required Qualifications • At least 2 years experience, including experience in hospital acute care, inpatient review, prior authorization, managed care, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. • Registered Nurse (RN).
