Glendive Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Nursing Assistant to join our Acute Care Department. In this role, you'll work directly alongside nurses and providers to support patients during their hospital stay while helping deliver safe, high-quality care.

This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable healthcare experience in a fast-paced hospital environment while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.

What You'll Do

Direct Patient Care

  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting needs
  • Support mobility, transferring, repositioning, and ambulation
  • Assist with meals, hydration, and feeding as needed
  • Maintain clean linens, patient rooms, and bedside environments

Clinical Support

  • Obtain vital signs, heights, weights, and intake/output measurements
  • Collect specimens and assist with diagnostic procedures
  • Perform EKGs and assist with cardiac monitoring
  • Provide non-sterile treatments and delegated nursing tasks

Safety & Communication

  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition
  • Communicate effectively during shift handoffs and team updates
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful, and compassionate care environment

Team Support

  • Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining unit readiness
  • Participate in orientation and training activities
  • Attend department meetings and educational opportunities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Nursing Assistant course completion or equivalent within 6 months of hire
  • Current BLS certification required
  • CNA or Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Previous hospital experience preferred

Schedule

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Six weeks on days / six weeks on nights
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
