 JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Registered Nurse is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family centered nursing care. The nurse provides safe nursing care to the pediatric primary care patients with minimal guidance and bases practice on identified principles and standards of care. The RN is responsible for daily patient care, assessment and treatment in collaboration with the clinical medical provider. The RN must be competent in caring for patients with moderate to complex heath issues. Assists nurse manager or Office manager with administrative issues which affect the clinical practices within the office as well as comply with the administrative policies and clinical protocols.
  • Essential Functions:
    • Follow the nursing process to deliver care: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
    • Synthesizes patient assessments data and recognizes complex situations prior to communicating with the care team.
    • Documentation reflects ongoing evaluation and effectiveness of patient care.
    • Provides care that meets professional standards of practice and meets regulatory requirements.
    • Safely administers medications and medications as prescribed by the provider.
    • Triages patient’s calls utilizing Barton Schmidt pediatric protocols, national teleheath standards and clinical advice from the clinical provider.
    • Assists the clinical provider with in office procedures within the scope of the nurse’s license.
    • Performs phlebotomy to obtain blood specimens and back office laboratory tests.
    • Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to primary care patients.
    • Additional Requirements:
    • RN Required, BSN preferred. RN applicants must agree to obtain BSN within 3 years of hire
    • Must have or be eligible for DE nursing license
    • Pediatric Office Nurse experience required
    • Phone Triage experience preferred
    • BLS Certification with the American Heart Association required
    • Monday thru Friday with rotating Saturdays

The Lead Registered Nurse serves as a resource to the clinical staff in the ambulatory setting. The Lead RN assists the Nurse Manager / Office Manager by providing clinical oversight and direction that ensures the safety and quality of the care provided to patients and families. As the Lead RN you are responsible for promoting and advancing the professional development of all clinical associates in the ambulatory setting through role modeling, mentoring, and providing feedback. In consultation with the Nurse Manger/Office Manager, the Lead RN monitors the ongoing clinical performance of clinical associates which includes registered professional nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel. Provides necessary coaching and collaborates with the Nurse Manager/Office Manager and Physician in Charge to facilitate the day-to-day clinical operations of the office. Responsibilities Participates in the interviewing and hiring of clinical staff. Coordinates and monitors orientation of new clinical associates to ensure they meet 90-day performance goals. Provides oversight of clinical staff to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed in the provision of patient care Monitors and ensures completion of annual competencies for clinical staff Serves as flow facilitator for clinical staff in the accurate and timely completion of patient care.     Registered Nurse - Day Medicine

    Job Description Nemours is seeking a Day Medicine Registered Nurse. The Day Medicine Unit has 10 physical bays that can accommodate 10 patients at one time. The Sedation Suite houses two anesthesia induction rooms, two sedation induction rooms and eight recovery bays. We have just expanded to also have the PET/MR Suite which includes one anesthesia and one sedation induction room. Hours of operation for Day Medicine are between 0600 and 1930, Monday through Friday. After hours, weekend and holiday service for sedation is provided by a rotating call team of two Day Medicine registered nurses. The registered nursing staff in Day Medicine cares for approximately 650 patients each month. Day Medicine performs single or ongoing outpatient IV infusions for many medical conditions. Day Medicine also services all of the needs for pre-sedation and anesthesia preparation, intra-procedural care and subsequent sedation / anesthesia recovery for all Medical Imaging diagnostic studies and interventional procedures as well as minor procedures occurring outside of the operating room, emergency room and intensive care environments. The average length of stay varies by procedure from only minutes to 8 or more hours. This position is full-time, 30 hours per week, varying shifts. Qualifications Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN Preferred Must have a min of 1 year of nursing experience Previous experience in pediatric nursing preferred.
