Qualifications:
- Valid, active RN license in Michigan
- Previous experience working as an RN in schools or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confident assessment, triage, and care planning skills
- Up-to-date BLS/CPR certification
- Clear background check and health/immunization records in accordance with state regulations
Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat student illnesses and injuries during school hours
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate health records
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to manage chronic health conditions and develop individual health plans
- Act as an advocate for student health, safety, and wellness
- Educate students and staff about general health topics, prevention, and self-care
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health requirements within the school setting
- Report communicable diseases and work with public health authorities as needed
