Job Summary and Qualifications

The NICU Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the NICU RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The NICU RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
(RN) Registered Nurse
Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma

Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is a 350-bed hospital that provides a wide range of medical services. It is known for its 24/7 emergency care, Level II Trauma Center, Burn Center, advanced heart care, and Baby-Friendly maternity services. The hospital also offers surgery, women’s imaging, and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and it accepts most insurance plans. It is located at 3651 Wheeler Road in Augusta, Georgia.

The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care with a Level II Trauma Center and full stroke care, as well as a nationally recognized Burn Center that is one of the largest in the country and offers advanced wound care.
