Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
  • Up-to-date CPR/BLS certification required
  • Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but open to motivated RNs enthusiastic about supporting children and teens
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to foster trust and cooperation among students, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and caseloads with professionalism and empathy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff as needed throughout the school day
  • Oversee and administer student medications and manage health plans in accordance with school policies
  • Monitor student health, respond to emergencies, and assess for signs of illness or injury
  • Document all nursing activities and maintain accurate health records
  • Communicate proactively with teachers, parents, and administration to support student health and wellness
  • Educate students and staff about health practices and promote a safe school environment
