
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Inpatient Medicine

Position Summary
The Inpatient Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will focus on clinical practice in the Renal, End-Stage Renal, Immunology, Endocrine, Adolescent Medicine, GI/Hepatology and Admission Team settings. The Inpatient Medicine APP will train with physicians and APPs and integrate with members of the multidisciplinary team.
Anticipated Start Date: September 2026
Key Responsibilities
• Front-line care and coordination of pediatric patients including assessment, diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, bedside procedures, and family centered care of patients and their families.
• Consult and collaborate with acute care providers and interdisciplinary team members on all assigned inpatients during daily rounds. Conducting patient assessment and medical history, physical exams, and diagnosing health and developmental problems.
• Care for patients with both acute and chronic disease by managing therapeutic regimens according to approved guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives, as well as facilitation of patient/family and multidisciplinary team.
Schedule:
• 36 hours, 50% day/night rotation, every 3rd weekend. Three 12-hour shifts per week.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
• Graduate from an accredited Master of Physician Assistant Studies or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program.
Experience
• Minimum of 1 year prior inpatient experience in an APP role
Licensure/Certifications
• PA, NP Board Certification (PNP-PC, PNP-AC, FNP)
• Massachusetts NP or PA license
• MCSR and DEA upon hire
• BLS upon hire
• PALS & ACLS certification within 3 months of hire
