School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Port Orchard, WA

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students health and well-being in a secondary school setting. As a contract Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), youll play an essential role assisting a medically fragile student throughout the school day, including potential transportation needs. In addition, you may provide paraprofessional support in a classroom dedicated to medically fragile students. This is a full-time, onsite position beginning in August and extending through the entire 2026-2027 school year, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active LPN license in Washington
  • Experience working with school-aged children or in a school environment preferred
  • Comfortable supporting medically fragile students and performing tasks aligned with LPN scope of practice
  • Willingness to assist as a paraprofessional and adapt to changing student needs
  • Ability to maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care and medical support to a specific medically fragile student
  • Assist with transportation needs as required
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment
  • Monitor and document health status, medication administration, and interventions
  • Support the classroom as a paraprofessional for other medically fragile students as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and regulatory requirements
