CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF
JOB TITLE: CLINICAL NURSE
REPORTS TO: CTE PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
WORK CALENDAR: 1 SCHOOL YEAR
SALARY: HOURLY RATE: $45/HOUR (estimated hours: 4-6 hours per day)
Job Goal:
Under the direction of the CTE Department and program instructor, provide direct clinical instruction and oversight for high school nursing students during clinical experiences, ensuring compliance with clinical site requirements and the achievement of program learning outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
The individual must meets the below qualifications per the AZ State Board of Nursing:
Positions in this classification typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable for the job. Employees may be subject to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises. Employees may be required to lift or exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force to move objects frequently. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Minimum Qualifications:
The individual must meets the below qualifications per the AZ State Board of Nursing:
- Hold a current, registered nurse license that is active and in good standing under A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 15
- provide documentation of minimum of one year full time or 1500 hours employment providing direct care as a registered nurse in any setting
- Successful completion of three semester credit course on adult teaching and learning concepts offered by an accredited post-secondary education institution
- Completion of 40 hour continuing education program in adult teaching and learning concepts that was awarded continuing education credit by an accredited organization
- One Year of full-time or 1500 hours experience teaching adults as a faculty member or clinical educator
- One year or 1500 hours experience supervising nursing assistants, either in addition to or concurrent with the one year of experience required in subsection (C)(1)(a)
- Coordinate with CUSD Instructor to ensure all students are assigned to their clinical patient assignments
- Supervise the care provided by a group of High School students while they complete their clinical rotation
- Teach students how to perform skills in the clinical setting and answering any questions
- Evaluate students' clinical work
