Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Post-Operative Surgical Unit! This 17-bed unit provides care for a diverse patient population recovering from trauma, vascular, general surgery, and urology procedures, while also caring for medical overflow patients as needed. Nurses on this unit provide comprehensive post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, mobility progression, patient education, and close monitoring for potential complications to promote safe recovery and positive patient outcomes. What You'll Do

  • Monitor and assess post-operative patients for changes in condition, including pain levels, vital signs, wound healing, and potential surgical complications.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and pain management treatments while ensuring patient safety and adherence to physician orders.
  • Educate and assist patients with post-surgical recovery activities, including mobility, breathing exercises, incision care, medication management, and discharge instructions.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and clinical outcomes while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
