Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a REGISTERED NURSE to join our Medical/Pediatrics team!

The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

HOURS: Supplemental, 24-hours per month, 12-hours quarterly on weekends and major holidays

Experience/Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Certification in specialty desired.
  • Ideally, there is a minimum of three years practicing as an RN in comparative setting.
  • Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license.
  • Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
  • Current Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification may be required based on primary department.

REGISTERED NURSE SURGERY - ANESTHESIA

The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data. Duties for this position includes assisting the anesthesiologist with intubations, assisting with fiber optic scopes during intubation, using sterile technique to set up central lines, assisting the anesthesiologist with placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan-Ganz catheters, starting IVs, drawing labs, setting up medication pumps, setting up and running the Belmont and cell saver, assisting anesthesia with heart surgeries, traumas, and elective surgeries, etc. and more.
