A Brief Overview
 

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

This position will require front desk (registration,  scheduling and answering phones) as well as clinical duties ( rooming,  vitals, clinical task baskets and patient call backs) 
The position will be required to work 1 evening per week (Thursdays) until 6:30pm and rotating Saturdays from 8am to 1pm

What You Will Do
 

  • Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
  • Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
  • Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
  • Provides a safe environment for patients

  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
